At Cornerstone Church Crystal, we understand the importance of belonging to a community of believers. We foster an environment of genuine fellowship and meaningful connections. Our church family is a place where everyone is welcome, regardless of background or past experiences.
Our dedicated team of pastors and staff are here to provide spiritual guidance and support - as well as resources to help you on your faith journey.
How it all started...
Established in 1948, Cornerstone Church began at a Sunday evening worship and prayer gathering in the Franklin Creamery. The next week, Bethlehem Methodist Church shared their facilities for our meetings to continue. A year later, we joined a group of like-minded churches known today as Converge Worldwide.
We have continued to move and grow as God directed Cornerstone forward. Most recently, we bought and refurbished a bowling alley in Crystal, Minnesota to become our new home. From our newest location at 5000 West Broadway, we hope to extend the good news of Jesus throughout the Northwest Metro.
"Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations,"
- Deuteronomy 7:9
Prayerful, regular, and intentional presence helps us notice the world around us. As we live and learn the way of Jesus together, we strive to represent His love for all people and do good wherever we can. A church that matters to the community is one that puts the community first! We believe the life we experience through Jesus is best shared together, so we are creating more spaces, both online and in-person, for us to connect and grow.
At Cornerstone Church Crystal, our mission is to love God, love people, make disciples, and witness to Jesus's work in the world. We connect people to Christ and His community, creating a vibrant faith community where the full life Jesus promised is experienced and expressed. We live this out through our commitment to 6G, shaping how we connect, grow, and serve together.
Discipleship is intentional. We believe the ways of Jesus are learned and lived through engaging with God's word and building relationships with others. We offer opportunities, both online and in person, to gather around God's word and grow together in the life Jesus invites us into.
Reconciliation represents the uncommon way of Jesus to the world. The Bible tells us very clearly that every Christian has been given a ministry of reconciliation . This reconciliation begins by being reconciled to God (2 Corinthians 5:11-21) and continues through being reconciled each to one another (Ephesians 2:14-18).
One church cannot reach all people. Looking for God's move in our community, we seek out opportunities to start and support new gatherings of Jesus-followers (churches) who feel called to specific areas of ministry, neighborhoods or people in our community.
At Cornerstone, Living 6G is how we describe a life that is fully connected to Jesus. In John 15, Jesus tells us, "Abide in me and we will be fruitful in life."
Abide means to be fully connected in every way to Jesus. Learning and living the rhythms of 6G help you to live connected. Each link below helps you discover more about this connected rhythm for life.
Pay attention to the natural world and it is easy to observe that healthy things grow and reproduce. The same is true in the world of faith. When you are healthy in your spiritual life, your faith grows, your life is fruitful and those fruits multiply throughout your life and into the lives of others.
Cornerstone offers several unique opportunities to encourage spiritual health and growth. We believe Living 6G is foundational to experiencing a healthy, growing faith.
Growth also happens as we prepare ourselves to grow. Click the resources below to investigate more about faith-building experiences, opportunities, and resources at Cornerstone.
Faith is best experienced and enhanced when people interact and engage God's word, worship, and way together. At Cornerstone, we have two open invitations to gather each week.
Sunday mornings focus on experiencing God through worship together. We celebrate God's great work by remembering God in song and story, relating to God through the Bible and prayer, and responding to God through giving, communion, baptism, and commitment.
Wednesday nights are explicitly focused on age-based engagements for kids, teens, and adults of all ages. Discussion and interaction around God's word and praying together guide Wednesday nights across the campus.
Are you really good at something? Have you ever wondered why?
Each of us have gifts and talents that have been given to us. Here's the secret to living 6-G with your gifts and talents: share them for the benefit of others! 1st Peter 4:10 reads, "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms."
When we use our gifts to bless others, we also glorify God!
Goodness helps others see God's love in tangible ways. We value good works toward others as a way of expressing love, grace, and truth.
There is no limit to where goodness comes alive. If you are there, goodness can be expressed and experienced. Our homes, workplaces, neighborhoods, and public spaces all invite expressions of goodness.
The radical beauty of grace is that it is unmerited and unconditional. We don’t deserve the gift of salvation, the constant help of the Holy Spirit, or all of the joys and pleasures of this life. And yet, because of God’s unthinkable love for us, we experience all these forms of grace and more. At Cornerstone, we look at grace in two ways: God's saving grace and timely grace.
Saving grace is experienced when we receive God's salvation through Christ. Our sins are forgiven, our brokenness is transformed into wholeness,, and we get to be with God now and forever!
Timely grace is experienced when God meets us in our present troubles, bringing comfort and help so that we can sustain ourselves through the day-to-day troubles that come. We offer several opportunities to help you experience grace.
Generosity demonstrates true Christian love and intention to a skeptical world. What we do with what God has given us shows the world that our belief in God's work is real. We want to glorify God in every area of our lives, and that includes what we do with our time, talent, and treasures.
The links below will help you learn more about giving and generosity at Cornerstone as well as enter into a practice of living generously now through intentional giving.
The following are the core beliefs of Cornerstone Church Crystal based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.
There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
In the beginning, God made everything. The world was perfect. Everything lived in harmony with each other. Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. Intended to live in relationship with God, the first humans, Adam and Eve, were created and appointed as caretakers for the rest of God's creation.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, left Heaven and entered the human condition, that all of creation might be saved through Him. Jesus came to reconcile us with God, creation and each other. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone.
Jesus Christ is returning one day to restore and renew all of creation; to judge both the living and the dead; and to usher in the fullness of God's kingdom on earth.
God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself.
Humans rejected God's created order. Together, the first humans agreed they knew better than God and rejected relationship with God through disobedience to His command. This rejection of God is what is called "The Fall" in Christian belief. This event affected all of creation, breaking the harmony and peace and ushering in disorder, disruption and death. When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God.
The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We believe in the power of prayer, both individually and corporately, as an expression of faith in God's work in our lives. Prayer is an essential part of a Christian life and is used to talk to God and to communicate with Him. We pray for guidance, strength, healing, protection, and for our families, friends, and community. Through prayer, we seek to deepen our understanding of God's will and His plans for our lives. Praying helps us grow closer to God and to gain a better understanding of His will and how we can best serve Him. When we pray, we open ourselves up to God and He will answer us in His own way and in His own time. Prayer is a beautiful and powerful way to communicate with our Heavenly Father and to seek His love and guidance.
