COVID-19 and CORNERSTONE

At Cornerstone, we want to care for our congregation in all respects, including the physical well-being of our community. To that end, we are asking you, our congregants, to take precautions to keep yourself and others safe, especially in light of recent developments with the coronavirus (COVID-19).

First, be calm and be informed with truth. You can find current updates on what is known to be true here (WHO)and here (CDC). Please be mindful of the guidance from the Minnesota Department of Health  including:
  • Stay home when you are sick. Know the symptoms. Even if you have "a little cough" stay home.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • Wear a mask.
  • Maintain social distance.
Indoor Worship Gatherings:
1.  If you are planning to attend an indoor worship gathering and you have experienced any symptoms of COVID-19 stay home. Symptoms of COVID-19 can include fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, headache, muscle pain, sore throat, or loss of taste or smell. Other less common symptoms include gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
2.  Worship Center is currently limited to 100 persons. Overflow seating is available upwards to 40 persons. Please RSVP here.
3.  All attendees must check-in at the welcome area before entering the venue for the purpose of contact tracing should an outbreak occur.
4.  Forehead temperatures will be checked before allowing to proceed into the indoor gathering space. Temperatures greater than 99.1 will be asked to return home.
5.  Facemasks are required to enter the venue. If you do not have your own, one will be provided for you. Cornerstone reserves the right to refuse building access to all who do not participate with these measures.
6.  Exercise patience as you wait to be seated. We are all adjusting to these new measures.
7.  Family groups (same household) may sit together. Social distancing measures will be practiced with a six-foot radial space around family groups or individuals. NOTE: Chairs will be placed per family upon entry. Ushers will guide you to your designated seating areas.
8. Families must stay together. This is a difficult task to accomplish in some settings. We love children and value their role in our world. However, according to health care professionals, children, especially younger children (between 2 and 10) are potential multipliers of contamination. Children must not run between groups and extend extra contact.  Note: Nursery care is not provided at this time.
9.  All chairs are sanitized after each use.
10.  Hand sanitizing stations will be placed throughout the venue.
11.  All participants must leave and not linger after the gathering has concluded. NOTE: Should we expand to more than one gathering, the building must be sanitized between gatherings. We love our gathering spaces, however, your cooperation helps us welcome others to the next gathering in a timely fashion.
12.  Offering and Prayer Request Boxes will be located at the worship center exits should you desire to use them. Online giving and text giving options are also available.
13.  The worship gathering is “touchless”. No papers will be handed out. No refreshments will be served. NOTE:  In the event of communion, supplies will be safely distributed to each participant before the worship gathering begins.
14.  Handshakes, hugs and high-fives are strongly discouraged as this breaks our social distance requirements.
15.  Vulnerable populations are encouraged to stay home and continue to join Online Church with Cornerstone Crystal. See the attachment for vulnerable populations.
16.  Appropriate signage to help people through the process will be visible in the waiting and gathering area.
