July 31, 2021 Update

Hey Cornerstone Family,

August is here!  Lake season is winding down and back-to-school season is winding up. One year ago, we began a phased re-opening of Cornerstone. We honored the posted protocols, working to keep you all as safe as possible while connecting in worship together. The general protocols have lifted across the board for places of worship in Minnesota. For Cornerstone, this means a return to full kids and teen ministry, mid-week worship gatherings, weekly bible studies and coffee on Sunday mornings!

I have invested my Tuesday afternoons this July to meet with pastors and community leaders across the Twin Cities. God is working powerfully in our community. One shared struggle that many churches are facing comes down to people. Ministry leaders across the Greater Twin Cities Metro don’t know who is still connected to their places of worship. Deficits in program volunteers and a lack of feedback from prior members/attenders has left ministry leaders across the GTCM scratching their collective heads on extending programming and ministries.

We have created a brief survey to help us gain a better picture of this challenge at Cornerstone.
Please take the survey online at: https://cornerstonecrystal.churchcenter.com/people/forms/277855 .

As we move into August, our preaching series shifts to discussion on recapturing God’s vision for Cornerstone. This series begins August 8 and shapes the flow all things Cornerstone as we wrap up the summer!
                                                  Glad to be your pastor,

  • Offices Closed on Thursday, August 5th and Friday, August 6th: The parking lot is being restriped and sealed the first week of August. To accommodate the work, we are closing the building those two days.
  • Key Cards Deactivated: On August 1st we are deactivating all building access cards. Please reach out to our associate pastor, Jamarcus Walker, Jamarcus.walker@cornerstonecrystal.org to discuss your need of access to the building. You will need your key card number (located on the bottom beveled side of the card) when talking with Jamarcus about your access needs.
  • Final Reconnect Event: Disney’s Luca Family Watch Part 6:30p at Cornerstone: Come enjoy a movie theater experience with other Cornerstone attenders and community friends. Pre-packaged movie style refreshments will be served upon entry.
  • Minnesota Teen and Adult Challenge Returns on August 29th: Join Cornerstone in-person for powerful worship and life-changing testimonies as we welcome our friends from MTAC to help close out our Summer! No kids or teen programming this day.
  • Town Hall, August 29th 6:00 p.m.: Join the Cornerstone Staff in person or online for important updates and discussion on Fall Kickoff 2021, re-opening with full programming and what we are looking to do to influence our community towards Jesus and impact our neighborhoods with love and good works!
