Weekly Update 11/02

Hey Cornerstone Family,

The United States is an anxious place. For many citizens, hope (and despair) rests with results and responses from Tuesday's election. Let me encourage you with a few things: vote your values; hope in Jesus, not people; and move with the Kingdom. There is power in each of those statements.  Scripture tells us that Jesus gives us a spirit of power, not fear. Live like it.                 (2nd Timothy 1:7)

As you think about life through 2020, maybe you have situations in your life that have left you anxious. If you need help, we're here for you. Let us know. On our home page, you will find opportunities for help, including connecting with a Stephen Minister. Check out the resources and let us know how we might help through anxious days.

If you stop by the offices this week, don't forget to grab your Operation Christmas Child Shoebox! Collection week is November 16-23, 2020. Check out this video for more.

Our focus for communion prayerfully challenges believers in Jesus to live as sheep in a world of elephants and donkeys. Join together in person or online as we pray for God's will and way to fall over our country.

For those with kids in the home, don't forget to pick up November's Family Discipleship Pack. If you need us to deliver one to you, email us at info@cornerstonecrystal.org and let us know. We will be glad to help. Follow this link to dive deeper with your pack.

This coming Saturday, we have an awesome opportunity for families with children to learn about blessing those who struggle under homeless conditions. Beyond learning, the invitation is to help through donating new twin sized bedding or new bath towels to donate to women and children at Haven House. If you can't make it to the event, but want to help, drop off bedding or towels in the church offices M-Th 9:30 to 3:30 any week before Thanksgiving. Check out Kids' page on our website for more details. You may also RSVP for the COVID-safe (socially distant; wear a mask) event by email. RSVP by emailing kristinlea.gifford@gmail.com.

In the meantime, check out what's happening this week through Cornerstone!
